The minimum duration of the contract is one year (12 months). No refund will be made should you wish to cancel advertising or remove your advertising within this period
At the completion of the contract period the advert will automatically continue to be displayed and you will continue to be invoiced. This period is known as the “follow-on period”. Should you wish to cancel your advertising during the “follow-on period” you must do so in writing. No cancellation fees will apply and no refund will be made. The advertising contract will end on the 2nd Monday of the month after the date notice of cancellation was received.
Advertisers are required to pay the full amount of the initial 12 month advertising contract within 3 months of commencing advertising. During the “follow-on period” you pay monthly in advance by either credit card or electronic transfer (direct debit).
In order to minimize administration and therefore the cost, advertisers are required to pay by credit card or the electronic transfer of funds.
Yes there are additional benefits when you advertise in the magazine and in Peninsula Living Online. For details ask your sales consultant
No we can’t. There are some 200 factors that influence the search engines and where you appear in the search results. Peninsular Living Online aims to have your listing appear on the first page of any Google or Yahoo search. We do this through clever design, size, and relevance and by including thousands of articles. Large amounts of content and new content is what search engines love.
Both Gold and Silver listings are by date registered so you must be the first to register in your category in order to appear first. If the search includes a suburb then you must also match the suburb. Search results will be in the following order; Platinum, Gold with matching suburb, Silver with matching suburb, Gold with surrounding suburb, Silver with surrounding suburb. For a detailed explanation refer to the PDF download search result’s explained.
Yes if you change your package your date will be reset and you will fall in order.
To do this you can purchase a Premium package which will appear at the top of the listing page independent of suburb. Alternatively you could purchase a tower advert for the appropriate business root category
The best way you can do this is to purchase a tower advert for your businesses root category. The tower advert will appear on the side of the search listing page and is independent of zone. A Platinum listing is also independent of suburb and zone.
The Gold and Silver packages are ideal for businesses that do not draw from across the peninsula.
Tower adverts are display ads that appear in the right hand column and are linked to a high level (root) category. They enable you to advertise alongside articles or search results that are related to your business. For example your web page may come up under kitchens. You can have a tower or banner advert linked to Home Renovations. The categories under this are kitchens, bathrooms & home additions. Your tower will appear against all of these categories and articles. When you click on the tower or banner you are taken to your web page.
You must first of all purchase a web page then you can purchase a tower or banner. Note there are ONLY 5 tower ads and 1 banner ad per high level category. The first tower advert is fixed in position 1 the other 4 will rotate in order.
If you are a platinum advertiser your web listing can fall under three business categories. It is important to note that your web page is linked to just ONE business category which is ranked as a Platinum listing. The other two listing take the user to one of your secondary articles from where they can click through to your web page. These other two listings are ranked as a silver listing
If you have two very different parts to your business you may be better off having two very different web pages. Google does not like it where copy is repeated in part or whole. Google also ranks content that is predominantly about one subject higher than if it were about multiple subjects.
Yes we prefer to do this. We will write the web page but not the secondary articles. Copy written for the web is very different to that written for print. We set out to ensure that the main searchable words are included along with key headings.
These appear in the right hand column under “more about us” and apply to Gold and Platinum packages. A secondary article is up to 2000 words and can include an image. Secondary articles should be used to detail various parts of your business. If your business predominantly installs kitchens but also does bathrooms, appliances, laundries and wardrobes then your web page should be on kitchens and your secondary articles on the other parts of the business. Note these articles are static pages in Peninsula Living Online and hence are searchable by Google.
The majority of people will find your page via a search in Google. Once they are in Peninsula Living Online they can search using our search engine.
No, not at all. We are very much about providing real leads to your business and we work on the premise that the majority of your business comes from close proximity. It is people using a location word such as Manly or Dee Why that we are primarily targeting however if people do not enter a location word you can still be found.
Our search directory is different for two reasons; firstly we contain over a thousand articles giving us significant importance with Google and providing business with an alternate means of being found, secondly we are all about local so where people enter a location word we will have greater importance than many sites.
Branding, branding, branding. Peninsula Living the magazine has been serving the local Northern Beaches for over 9 years; local people recognize the brand for delivering local business and community information. If you were to do a search and are looking for a local Northern Beaches business you are much more likely to click through to a local search directory that you know and identify with.
