Located on the Northern Beaches close to Manly, Warringah, Pittwater and North Shore areas Sylvia Fisher from Weddings by Sylvia specialises in wedding ceremonies, commitment ceremonies, naming ceremonies and renewal of vows ceremonies.
As a fully certified Civil Marriage Celebrant with over four year’s experience, Northern Beaches’ celebrant, Sylvia Fisher is able to cater to your specific needs and style of ceremony and looks forward to the opportunity of assisting you to bring your special day together.
From Palm Beach, to Mona Vale and Dee Why to Manly, the Northern Beaches are chock-a-block with many beautiful locations, many of which are ideal settings for the perfect wedding ceremony. So, if you have your heart set on a Northern Beaches’ wedding, you will need a civil celebrant present when you recite your wedding vows, for the simple reason that she will legalise your marriage.
Northern Beaches’ marriage Celebrant, Sylvia Fisher is articulate, eloquent and confident, yet gentle and sensitive enough to calm any pre-wedding jitters. Sylvia will assist the bride and groom to put a ceremony together that reflects their own personalities as well as accommodate any cultural, religious or personal practices you may wish to include. These practices could include:
Sand Ceremonies - A popular ceremony for Northern Beaches’ weddings. Using different coloured sands, representing the lives of both the bride and groom, the couple fill a vase called the Unity Vase as they exchange their vows. This special wedding ceremony captures the meaning of two lives becoming one and the sand filled vase becomes a symbol of a new life together and of the marriage.
Butterfly Ceremonies - The butterfly symbolises new beginnings and rebirths. What better way to celebrate the beginning of a new life together than with the releasing of butterflies at your wedding? The butterflies are released to carry forth the good news of your love and commitment for each other.
To recapture your wedding day or celebrate a special anniversary by renewing your vows can be romantic, magical, exciting and fun to do. Wedding vow renewal or re-affirmation ceremonies can be as creative and personal as you want them to be. Being married for only one or fifty years, renewing your vows in front of family and friends is a gesture of love and commitment to your partner.
A Commitment Ceremony is a meaningful and dignified ceremony for any adult couples who want to make a public declaration of their life-long commitment and love for each other. The content and style of every commitment ceremony will be different, and Sylvia will tailor it to the wants and needs of each individual couple. Your ceremony can be as traditional and formal as you like, or relaxed and unstructured.
The safe arrival of a new baby is certainly something to celebrate. Sylvia would be delighted to help you put together your own ceremony including poetry, music and readings, and the venue can be anywhere - in your own home, by the beach or your favourite family location.
While all wedding celebrants are required to meet the same ‘legal’ requirements in registering your marriage, no two celebrants will go about the planning and presentation of your ceremony in the same way. Weddings by Sylvia will ensure your special ceremony is as unique and memorable as each individual couple.
Sylvia will ensure all the legal requirements are in place for your ceremony which includes completing a “Notice of Intended Marriage” form, no less than 1 month and 1 day prior to your wedding date; however this can be done as early as 18 months before your wedding day. In the case of surprise weddings (and by that we mean a surprise for your guests, both the bride and groom have to agree and be aware of the impending marriage. The normal legal process applies.
When you book Sylvia for your ceremony you can be assured every little detail has been considered. Extra touches include an Application of Marriage Certificate, provision of PA system with attachment for i-pod, table with two chairs and tablecloth for signing, commemorative copy of ceremony presented on stylish paper in folder, ‘Keys to Living Together’ DVD (supplied by the Department of Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs) with useful information on marriage as well as a ‘Happily Ever After’ brochure. Sylvia is also in constant contact by phone and email and dresses appropriately to reflect the style of your ceremony.
Sylvia is an authorised Civil Marriage Celebrant and a member of the AFCC (Australian Federation of Civil Celebrants). She is bound by the marriage celebrant’s Code of Practice, which means she must:
